Origin Of Name:In 1889, the Alamo post office was located here until the Burlington line reached the point and the Lincoln Land Company established Manderson. Manderson was named for an official of the Burlington railroad stationed in Omaha. This was the site of the first post office in Big Horn County. The town is near Nowood River, which comes in from the east, with the Big Horn River, running north. (WPA) Named for an Omaha official of the Burlington Railroad. (Annals of Wyoming 14:3)
