Center of wool shipping and sheep shearing. Was originally called "Woolton", but the name was changed to Wolton for its ease in pronunciation. (WPA) Named from the fact that it was the center of sheep shearing for this part of the state. (Annals of Wyoming 15:1) Wolton, Natrona County, Wyoming was named from the fact that it was the center of wool shipping and sheep shearing for this part of the state.
