Named for J.W. Garland who was a forest ranger in the early 1900s. (WPA) Garland.—This is the oldest town on Shoshone project and a railroad station was established there on September 10, 1901. Mr. Kuska advises that the town was named by T.E. Calvert and has no local significance. (The Reclamation Era 30:294)
