Once called Germania Bench for the settlement of German farmers. Name was changed to Emblem due to prejudice from the World War. The settlement is known for its fine farm land and extensive crops of beans and beets. (WPA) Emblem was known as Germania until the World War of 1914-1918 at which time the new name was adopted.
