Origin Of Name:Alex Moorcroft was the first white man to build his cabin in the open, in defiance of the Indians. It was a ranch originally owned by two English men named Miller. They named the Moorcroft Ranch after their estate in England called "Moorcroft Acres." (WPA) Moorcroft is on the site of a horse ranch owned by the Miller Brothers, who named it for their English estate, Moorcroft Acres. (Wyoming Guide)
