Origin Of Name:A creek which begins in T-14 - R 72 and flows south into Colorado. Named for Virginia Dale Slade in 1862, wife of the notorious outlaw Joseph Slade. Dale Creek was once called Clear Creek because of its clear rippling water. (WPA)

Description:...two and one-half miles west of Sherman we pass over Dale Creek Bridge, the most noted bridge on the line, it being 138 feet high and 840 feet long, beneath which is Dale Creek, swarming with mountain trout, the finest fish for eating there is anywhere to be found. (Brown's Gazetteer)
