In southeastern Wyoming, which is the southeastern corner of Laramie County, lies a tract of land which has been well named, "The Golden Prairie District." so named because of the vast number of yellow flowers. The hills and valleys look like gold when these flowers are in full bloom. In no other part of the State are these flowers found. The ground in this district is covered with a carpet of short, stiff, and curly grass, called buffalo grass, which is very nutritious.
