Origin Of Name:Big Horn was named because it was at the front of the Big Horn Mountains. Big Horn was named by J.H. Sackett, O.P. Hanna, and C.W. Skinner. O.P. Hanna laid claim to having founded Big Horn. Jack Sackett and C.W. Skinner were the builders of the town. (WPA) Named for the Big Horn Mountains, at the foot of which range it is located.
