Origin Of Name:Named for a man prominent in building railroads in eastern and northern Wyoming. (Gannett, 1905) Named for Weston Harvey, who was instrumental in the railroad as it pushed its iron trail westward into Wyoming. Organized in 1890. County seat is in Newcastle. (WPA) Named for John B. Weston, whose activities and influence brought the railroad into that section of Wyoming. (Wyoming Historical Blue Book, 1946)
