Yellowstone Lake is the largest lake in North America at an high altitude of 7,736 feet. Its greatest depth is over 300 feet, has a shore line of 100 miles and covers 138 square miles. A natural bridge formed of lava is located about one and half miles from Bridge Bay. At the outlet of the lake is located the famous Fishing Bridge. East of the Fishing Bridge about one fourth of a mile is a biological and geological museum. (WPA) |
