| AN ACT to create W.S. 31-8-201 through 31-8-203; and to amend W.S. 31-2-201 by creating a new subsection (h) and 31-4-103 relating to compulsory motor vehicle insurance; requiring certification of financial responsibility to register a motor vehicle; requiring insurers to verify the existence of motor vehicle liability policies upon request; providing exceptions; requiring operators to produce evidence of whether a motor vehicle liability policy or bond in specified amounts is in effect at the request of a police officer; providing for an insurance identification card system; providing that display of a valid identification card constitutes compliance with the law; providing for a registration reinstatement fee and distribution thereof; providing penalties; providing for suspension of registration for violation; providing rulemaking authority; exempting county treasurers from liability as specified; and providing for an effective date. |
