AN ACT to create W.S. 7-4-105, 7-4-106 and 9-1-634; to amend and renumber W.S. 7-4-102 as 18-3-610; to amend W.S. 1-6-102, 7-4-201 through 7-4-205, 7-4-207 through 7-4-211, 18-3-606, 33-16-108, 35-l-418(c) and 35-l-419(c); and to repeal W.S. 7-4-103, 7-4-206 and 31-5-1109 relating to county coroners; providing that coroners or their deputies must be certified as trained in forensic pathology by January 5, 1987; creating a board of coroner standards; providing definitions} requiring the board to develop standards for coroner investigations and training; requiring continuing education requirements for coroners; providing exceptions; providing for a coroner training program to be conducted by the Wyoming law enforcement academy; transferring certain duties from the office of county coroner; requiring the reporting of certain sudden, violent or untimely deaths and providing a penalty; providing for the coroner to conduct an investigation into certain deaths resulting from other than natural causes; providing procedures for inquests; requiring county and district attorneys to act in the absence of the coroner; removing the coroner's duty to report traffic accident fatalities- increasing the penalty for embalming a body without permission of the coroner when death occurs under suspicious circumstances; providing that medical certifications of cause of death are to be signed within a reasonable time; providing for an appropriation; and providing for an effective date.
